Seven Ways to Improve Your Smile with Tooth-Colored Fillings, Fort Mill

Tooth-colored fillings, incidentally, are called white fillings as well.

  1. These blend in with the teeth in such a way that they are not spotted very easily. This is one great advantage which the tooth-colored fillings bring in for the users. Hence, one does not feel embarrassed about them showing away at a distance to those a person is interacting with. Simply put, anyone and everyone not able to pinpoint them immediately.
  2. Speaking, these fillings provide a lot of strength and support to a tooth or teeth which have broken, chipped or fractured. The white fillings can also be utilized for altering the shape, size, and color of the given tooth or teeth in question. Also, the fillings also help in narrowing or cutting out the gaps in between teeth and trying to give a more straightened getup to the teeth.
  3. Another huge advantage with these is that they cement onto the tooth or teeth due to a chemical reaction. Thus, they do not need any placement of slots, grooves or pins to hold them as such.
  4. The nature of these fillings is such that up to 85 to 95 percent of the tensile strength of the tooth or teeth is brought back with them. Thus, they really play a very important role in strengthening the tooth or teeth by a huge margin.
  5. Also, what is important to note is that this form of fillings takes very little time to harden up in their new places. In fact, it may take just a few second for the filling to completely solidify in its new environment. This reduces a lot of discomforts which a patient undergoes with other types of fillings which can even take up to a few days to settle down fully. Also, any tooth sensitivity which may happen due to fillings is very minimal in this case. In some other types of fillings, one may encounter discomfort of this kind as well.
  6. Also, these fillings can easily be used for the front as well as back teeth as well. The exact place of their use is no restriction at all. However, one should keep a watch on an intake of too much of tea or coffee while using these as they may get stained due to over intake of such drinks.
  7. Since these are very firm, it is difficult to dislodge them. One can eat some food items and take drinks without any fear of the filling coming out easily. They are pretty firmly set in their positions. Nonetheless, these are not as strong as metallic fillings. Also, a word of caution must be exerted with these: too many alcoholic drinks may just bring down their real value. Also, they tend to be a bit heavy on the pocket as well. However, while viewing in an overall manner, it is obvious that their advantages by far outweigh their disadvantages.
